Unlike other customer call paging systems that use cheap 27MHz technology, Commtech’s Patron Pager uses the international paging standard, POCSAG for superior reliability and coverage. This means that there’s no chance of interference from toy radios, baby monitors, car alarm remotes etc.

Once the Patron Pagers have been programmed there’s no further set up required. Patron Pagers can be pre-programmed at the time of delivery or programmed on-site over-the-air.

The Patron Pagers use an innovative ‘stack and charge’ system that saves on surface space and eliminates clutter. Smart charge technology also means that the batteries won’t get over-charged, extending battery life. Each time the Patron Pager is removed from the charging stack, it cycles through a self-test mode to let the staff member know that it’s working and to provide the customer with a preview of its behaviour when paged.

The functionality of the Patron Pager can be customized to suit the environment and individual requirements of your site. There’s no need for special programming jigs or software. All that’s required is your paging transmitter. All features and settings can be programmed over-the-air (OTA). Each of the three alert types (beep, flash, vibrate) can be turned on or off individually - OTA. The pager ID, baud rate and a number of the pager features can all be changed OTA.

Don’t put up with a system that misses messages because the customer has inadvertently wandered out-of-range. The Patron Pager lets you know when you’re out-of-range so you can be confident that you’ll receive each and every message. Plus, because an out-of-range coaster can only be reset by placing it on a charger stack, the highly practical Out-of-Range mode acts as an effective anti-theft device.

There’s nothing more frustrating than replacing battery after battery. That’s why the Patron Pager uses a ‘Smart Charge’ system that switches to a trickle charge once it detects that the coaster is fully charged. This prevents damage to the replaceable Ni-Mh batteries. Unlike Ni-Cd batteries, Ni-Mh batteries won’t suffer from a "memory effect". This means a much longer life span (approx 2-3 years) and fewer battery replacements.

Don’t waste your time looking for missing pagers. The Patron Pager’s auto-locate feature enables you to quickly locate pagers that haven’t yet been returned to a charging base. With a simple OTA command, all pagers not on a charging base will flash and vibrate - allowing them to be promptly found and placed on charge.
